Submission Requirements

Eligibility:

  • Open to Canadian artists
  • All submitted work must be original (no reproductions or AI-generated content)

Media Accepted:

  • Oil, acrylic, and mixed media painting
  • Paintings must be on gallery-depth canvas or panel

Not Accepted:

  • Watercolour
  • Pastel
  • Photography
  • Sculpture
  • Prints
  • Any work that requires a glass covering

Submission Guidelines:

  • Fee: $20 per artwork (non-refundable)
  • Submission deadline: April 1 2026, 6:00 PM (EST)
  • No size restrictions
  • Unlimited submissions allowed

Presentation Requirements:

  • Work must be hang-ready
  • Framing is optional; if unframed, edges must be clean and finished
  • A $50 handling fee will apply to any artwork delivered without proper hanging hardware

Sales & Commission:

  • All works must be for sale
  • Artists receive 50% commission on any sold work
  • Shipping of unsold artwork is at the artist’s expense

Additional Info Required Upon Acceptance:

  • Artist’s name, email (for payment), and tax number (if applicable)
  • Tax rate based on artist’s province
  • Artwork label with artist name, title, size, medium, and price

Retreat Opportunity

  • Three selected artists from the Made in Canada exhibition will be awarded a place at Powagen Retreat, held in Muskoka from August 26–28, 2025.
  • This three-day, two-night retreat offers time for rest, inspiration, and creative focus in a peaceful natural setting
  • All meals included (breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by a private chef)
  • Artists will have access to quiet studio time, plein air inspiration, and space to recharge
  • Transportation to and from the retreat must be arranged by the artist travel expenses are not covered by the retreat
  • This is a unique opportunity to connect with the land, deepen your practice, and enjoy time dedicated entirely to your art.
